Capital City Housing’s Community Development Officer organised a fun and engaging school holiday programme for children living at Acacia Park and Signal Hill in Pietermaritzburg from 29 June to 9 July. The holiday programme got off to an exciting start with a friendly soccer match for the children at Signal Hill. From there, the programme continued with a variety of activities designed to keep children entertained, encourage creativity and promote teamwork. The children enjoyed board games, team challenges, dance, music, and discussions about various topics.
For Capital City Housing, community development is about more than providing affordable social housing. It is also about creating communities where residents feel supported and where children have positive opportunities to learn, grow and connect with others.
Our School holiday programme is slowly becoming a valued staple at Capital City Housing by providing tenants a valuable service to keep their children entertained and engaged completely free of cost.
