Dear Tenants,
Capital City Housing has installed new lockable post boxes for all units at Signal Hill.
To collect you post box key, please take note of the following:
- Only the legal tenant may collect the unit-numbered post box key from the office.
- The legal tenant must provide their ID for verification for collection.
- Only the legal tenant may sign for and accept the post box key. No key will be issued without the tenant’s signature.
- If all keys are misplaced, or if keys are not returned to the office upon termination of the lease, a replacement fee of R250.00 will be charged.
Lease agreement obligations
In line with your lease agreement, please note the following clauses regarding key management:
Clause 16: Return of premises
16.3 “The lessee will hand over at the premises all the keys of premises, (including external and internal door and cupboard keys) to a representative of the lessor on the day he or she vacates the premises.”
Clause 17: Inspection
17.4 “The lessor may apply the deposit (and any interest thereon), to the payment of all amounts for which the lessee is liable, including the cost of repairing damage caused to the premises during the lease period and any lost keys.”
These provisions apply to all unit-issued keys, including post box keys. Any post box keys currently in your possession must be returned to the office so that a new key may be issued and recorded.
Your post box keys are available for collection at any time during office hours.
